Inside Tom
"The Invention of Chaos"
The abridged version: This is the
sister painting to "Pondering a
Bite." The man has just taken a
bite of the apple and now the
chaos begins. The woman goes for
another bite of the apple. She
wants more. Pandora's Box is now
open for both of them and there is
no turning back. Demons pull at
the man and will continue to pull on
him for his entire life. The serpent
has released the woman and its
color has faded from green to
black. The man's world is now
sinking beneath him. He feels
shame and disgrace as God's light
shines upon him, exposing his
sinful nature. His saving grace is
the life preserver that he wears
around his waist. This represents
the lifeline that is cast down by
God, his only hope.
